Groupo Atlântico performs a variety of related musical styles from the early part of the 20th century, focusing on connections between early jazz and ragtime, Brazilian choro, biguine from Martinique, and early tango music. The group focuses in particular on classic choro from Brazil, especially the music of Ernesto Nazareth, the seminal Brazilian pianist and composer of the 1910s and 20s. Charming melodies and subtle rhythms create a warm atmosphere of good times!
