Kicking it off will be Valentango on Feb 11-12, playing some traditional and modern tango with my old friend and collaborator Alex Krebs’ wonderful orchestra and our “What the Tango?!” band:
Next up will be some duo gigs with me and Megan Yvonne, the singer from Alex’s band, at some dances in Portland and Eugene, playing material from our duo album we released last year:
Then, I’ll be playing with my oldest musical collaborator, drummer Tyson Stubelek, and Bill Athens on bass, with whom I also put out a record a few years ago. This will be a relaxed evening of piano trio music, with special guest Tom Barber on trumpet for part of it as well:
Then I’ll be sitting in for a blast through some of Galen Clark‘s great tunes in a two-keyboard gig with Galen and Charlie Doggett on drums at the stalwart Alberta Street Pub.
Finishing it off will be two gigs playing old-time jazz and swing, with my old band the Bridgetown Sextet plus special guest Devin Phillips, another long-time collaborator, for Mardi Gras at the Mission Theater on Feb 23:
Finally I’ll be sitting in with Doug and Dee’s Hot Lovin’ Jazz Babies at their monthly gig at Secret Society.
