Music Arranging Services
I offer custom arranging, transcription, and composition services for small and large ensembles. I am also happy to provide lead sheets with chord symbols and/or lyrics, transcribe improvised solos from recordings, or simply copy handwritten parts onto the computer.
I have been working as a professional arranger since 2006. I have studied arranging with Matt Lemmler, Darrell Grant, and Charley Gray, as well as from many old recordings and scores, of course!
My arrangements have been commissioned and performed by the Portland Jazz Orchestra, Oregon Jazz Orchestra, Devin Phillips Octet, Orquesta Tipica Krebs, PDX Jazz Project, Reggie Houston, and others. I am also the arranger (as well as cornetist/drummer) for the Bridgetown Sextet and, of course, I arrange my compositions for my own groups, the Andrew Oliver Sextet, Andrew Oliver Kora Band, and Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble.
I have experience transcribing and arranging for jazz combos and large ensembles up to full big band in traditional or modern styles, Tango orchestras, as well as other styles and types of instrumentation.
