New Album in September
We’re excited to announce that our second album, “Cascades,” will be out on Origin Records this September! It’s a new collection of traditional and original music that we’ve been working on for about a year. We’ll be touring the west coast in September in support of its release! We’ll be playing in Seattle, Olympia, Portland, Lincoln City, Talent (near Ashland), San Jose, San Francisco, and Sacramento! The tour schedule and a full press release will be on the site very soon. Meanwhile here’s a streaming track from the new album to whet your appetite. It’s a brand new tune that I wrote called “Ngoni System” which was inspired by the great Bassekou Kouyate, one of the world’s finest ngoni players, and it features Mark on calabash, a large gourd that is used to make the body of the kora and also as a drum (as well as a bowl and storage device!).
