Seattle CD Release Tonight!

The Kora Band’s Seattle CD release show will be this evening at the JewelBox Theater in Belltown. We’re really looking forward to this one! We have some new tunes for this gig, including one with some vocals by Kane, who in addition to being a fantastic kora player also speaks and sings in Gambian Mandinka, so that will be a great addition to the band’s sound.

And, opening the show will be the Kane Mathis/Ryan Francesconi duo – in addition to being a fantastic Kora player, Kane also plays Turkish Oud, and has this great project with multi-instrumentalist/composer Ryan Francesconi. You can hear them here.
